The only thing similar between AP and SP is that they sing the same songs. Their vocal textures, styles and range are absolutely different. I don't see why people say he sounds like SP when he actually doesn't. To say one is better than the other is completely irrelevant. Apples to oranges. He was obviously chosen to carry on the legacy songs as well as the new ones - not because he sounds like SP but because he's vocal attributes fit in perfectly with the band's style.

darryls007 - Guitar players like Neal Schon are not a dime a dozen but more like one in a million. SP was replaced because he can't sing anymore and Journey still makes a lot of money and fans happy.

I thought for a while that the Faithfully part was studio recording, but it is live recording, performed with Zoo band. Such a powerful voice.

I'm very happy for Ariel, for his succes but at the same time I am very sad for our Motherland, Our beloced Country the Philippines.
