@TheRealVerbz Sounds like the length of the circuit is the problem. I imagine that if you made many closed circuits down the length of the pipe it would work better maybe.

PVC pipe wrapped by copper and the magnet... Did you check this installation in a circuit? Different frequencies, harmonic resonance frequency (ies) with the magnet? Ed Leedskalnin...

@TheRealVerbz I saw another video where some guy had tried using a smaller setup, but same material, except he closed the circuit on both ends of the copper wire (removing the insulation of course at the ends), but it worked. Wish I could remember where it was.

Wow !! if this was copper pipe slow fall was adapted to a water wheel type assembly ,,might make a generator power supply ...Leedskalnin had some bottels wrapped with large wire almost like a joul theif coil in his collection..iron souled shoes too..mabe he did stargate type coils on stone and tuned to match the frequincy of the coral ,I think sound frequincy was part of the megalithic builds,moving and cutting perfect fits with dimond bit's +sound added - :) 5* post ,Thank You !!subed !

With current passing thru the wires ( see to it that the ends are properly skinned ) , try dropping the magnet at a higher elevation, it MIGHT induce magnetic current.

Hey bru, the pvc w/copper wire is maybe too thick, plus, try putting a 1.5 v battery to the wires, then step up the voltage, also, when the magnets dropped through the Cu tube it appeared to 'push' the tube, I wonder if it gets heavier, during the descent?
Ohhh yeah, use a pillow so the magnets don't chip! Gotta be careful with the resources, they really tear up the earth to get ore to make those magnets.
Very cool experiment, lots to ponder!

@TheDarkeJ There's more copper by weight in the wire around the pvc than there is in the solid copper pipe, so I figured there would be some noticeable difference.
And that's a good question about the weight!
Even though the magnet isn't touching the copper on the way down, does the eddy current connect the weight of the magnet to the weight of the copper pipe?
I'm going to upload another experiment where there's a magnet ring around the copper pipe and the ring levitates remaining stable.

Is the copper coil wound on pvc a closed circuit? If you close the circuit it will work better I think.

@MrAnguswangus I connected the wires together to see if it affects the rate the magnet falls and it doesn't seem to do anything.
I have more weight of copper in the form of wire wrapped around the pvc pipe than is in the solid copper tube.
I'm not sure why it doesn't affect the rate the magnet falls like the solid copper.
