Built a rabbit hutch for 2 free pet rabbits. They are some type of Lops. Probably going to start growing my own feeder rabbits. If you average 5 to 8 rabbits every 10 weeks, that's roughly 5 litters a year that comes to 25 to 40 rabbits per year raised. I have two females and I'll get a male to breed them. So my numbers could be double that.

  • that's a great hutch, don't let anyone tell you differently. in the winter you don't need to worry about them being cold unless it's at least 10below 0. in the summer tho try to keep them in the shade or wrap a frozen water bottle in a towel and toss it in with them. wish i'd seen this before i built my first one but you get the hang of it if you just wing it. mine ended up about the same as yours except it's solid wood on all except the door and floor. the rest is enclosed.

  • Hey Grace, I was going to rip you a new one. But I just checked out your channel first and thought I would be nice to you and reply like a gentleman. So I will send you a personal message. But to all others that have read her reply. This rabbit hutch totally meets ARBA standards. ARBA stands for American Rabbit Breeder Association. And the second thing is read the information box to the right of the videos before commenting. I said these are pets, and I would PROBABLY start feeders.

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 ummmm i dont know what u are talking about the wire is better than anything do to it keeping them so clean AND they can even go into the house and meat rabbits breeders of course require 4 square feet and when he gets another rabbit he will just need a 24" x 24" rabbit pen although i do reccomend a 24"x30" cage ON WIRE of course

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 ur high man rabbits live in the wild so they do well in very cold and very hot weather

  • @whatsanme well..i went with one piece of mesh and wrapped it around the base ect..its not as tight as yours and used staples for now..its far from done..gonna start on the box tmmrw.thx for the upload.

  • im using this as a model for the one we're tryn to build right now. Im havn alil confusion on how the mesh should be attached,,it seems u did a great job but ur methods are not to clear? what type of fasteners did u use?

  • @victoria4554 i totally agree

  • @america2revolt So hows the breeding coming along so far?

  • They will love it!!

  • nice

  • Great hutch ill be working on mine soon,so im looking for easy DIY hutches....

  • Heya, thats a lovely set-up how is the breeding going?

bubblewrap is a good insulator for bottles.

Also are you still breeding them that much? And meat rabbits are a different breed, as far as I'm aware they're not lops.

Where I live the min requirements for two buns is 6ft x 2ft x 2ft and that hutch seems lovely enough. And wire floor is fine so long as its kept clean and rust free and there is ample restings space, which this hutch apears to be. :)
