Movies To Video Games Reviews
Review #23

--This is a Fan Requested Review--

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) is fully reviewed and analyzed as compared to the actual movie itself.

Feel free to comment. More movies to video games reviews coming soon.. suggestions and feedback welcome and encouraged.

To save on space and time in the video, the score tallies and descriptions of how I got to the scores are listed here instead.

They are on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best score possible:

Story Accuracy to the Movie 4.0
(Has all the characters and the final boss is related , but everything else really is more TV show based than movie based. Even the ending doesnt relate to the film.)

Music Soundtrack Accuracy to the Movies 4.5
(It has the main theme song and that is the most important song to be there. So it gets kudos for that, everything else though is standard generic fighting music scores..)

Game Difficulty 4.0
(Game is way too short and is pretty easy. Not a bad thing considering the target market this game is geared for but a little more than 6 levels would have been nice. You wont find much of a challenge here. )

Overall Fun 5.0
(It has its moments. Beating up monsters and transforming into a Power Ranger isnt a bad idea. But there is no substance to the game and it gets old fast. Its middle of the road and really should have related more to the film and had some Zord battles to be truly fun.)

Final Score: 4.00

  • Alright, you're right that it doesn't pertain to the movie much at all, but much of the stuff you said was very biased or not thought out. You said using a character's ability rather than morphing is useless, but it may prove to be a useful strategy, as once you get to the boss, you'll morph automatically, no power required. And you said the abilities are pretty much the same? Sad that you fail to see the difference between scattering explosives, doing a flipping kick, and firing a ki blast.

  • Hey, don't wait so long for the next review, kay?

  • To be technical, Natsume made this game, which is all the more the shame, because it seems that this game is even worse than the Fighting Edition and the Original SNES Power Rangers game, and the only thing improved is the sound engine used for the music, which is obviously lifted from the Fighting Edition.

  • why does tommy have a green teleport beam and green trousers? i mean i know he WAAAASSS the green ranger but in this he is meant to be white!

  • Why are you speaking so quickly!? Slow down!

  • This is a great game that deserves a higher score. But still it could have been more related to the movie. If the only hade used the Power Rangers to its full potential.... Jason David Frank I love you!!

  • johnny, Persona games, .hack// :D
