It already felt like someone had shot me in the heart... I don't need that getting worse.
**End POV**
**Aly's POV-
Okay. We survived a week of this torture. Only today left and then the weekend. I can do this. Just ignore him Aly. Just IGNORE him.
Nick: *takes the seat next to me* What is your problem with me Aly?
My heart skipped a beat when he said my name. Aw damn. "Why won't you just leave me ALONE?"
Nick: Can't. Science lab today. Have to work with the person you sit next to.
I groaned. "Well let's get it over with then" I grabbed the instruction sheet and read it over real quick. As I did so I heard something that scared me.
Tori: DON'T TOUCH ME! *leaps out of her seat*
I spun around to see the entire class staring at her and Kevin. Kevin was in his seat, watching her.
Mrs. Ferrat: Miss Hurtz, please take your seat and don't disrupt the lab.
Tori: I will NOT work with him! *slams her book on the table*
Mrs. Ferrat: You will sit down and work quietly or leave my classroom!
Tori gave her the most disgusted look possible then sat back down. She muttered something that made Kevin's eyebrows shoot up. I turned to start working again and that's when I realized Nick's hand was on my leg. "Get your hand off me" I growled at him. He didn't move. I grabbed his hand, nails digging into the back of his hand.
Nick: *snatches his hand back*
"Keep your hands to yourself. Or to your stupid girlfriend" I said darkly, turning back to the lab.
**RRRRRRIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGG**
I was out of the class with Regina and Tori right away.
Bridgite: Nicky!
Nick: *walks over and kisses her* Hey babe.
Bridgite: *pulls his face back down and kisses him again*
When she let him go she turned to grin at me, her eyes taunting me.
Regina: Come on, we have acting next.
That brightened my mood. We took a class that helped improve our acting skills. We'd been taking the class since last year. The class was in the auditorium every day.
Tori: Yeah, we're performing our skits today!
As we walked down the hallway I noticed a poster. "guys...." They came back.
Regina: Oh my god!
Tori: How did we forget?!
"Auditions are TODAY!" **RRRRRRIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGG** Acting class was starting! "We gotta go!
Regina: *runs for the auditorium*
Tori and I raced after her. We burst through the doors just in time. "Sorry Miss Rea!"
Miss Rea: No problem. I was just about to start. Please, take a seat.
We all hurried to our seats. Miss Rea was easily our favorite teacher. Besides teaching out favorite class, she was the nicest. We could walk in 5 minutes late and she wouldn't write us up. She loved the kids in her class and loved her subject. She had been in 5 broadway productions already and was currently rehearsing for a 6th.
Miss Rea: So, we've been working on our skits this week. Who wants to go first?
Regina's hand shot up. Tori's followed. I laughed and raised mine too. We were in a group. Our skit was REALLY stupid. But the topic idea Miss Rea had given had been typical high school. Regina was going to be acting 'new girl' I was acting the 'average student' and Tori was the 'popular'
Regina: *takes a seat hesitantly*
I walked over. "Hi! I'm Aly. You're new here, right?" I swung a chair around backwards to straddle the back of it like so many in our school did. That made the class laugh.
Tori: *comes over, flipping her hair* You're in MY seat.
Regina: *mutters* Sorry... *moves to get up*
Tori: *throws Regina's books on the ground* Watch it!
Regina: *crouches to get the books*
Tori: *knocks Regina over* Don't get my new shoes dirty new girl!
This entire time, I was standing off to the side, just watching. I made sure my face had reflected the look that I knew it was wrong, but I didn't do anything.
Miss Rea: Very well done girls. Where did you get the idea?
Tori: *helps Regina pick up the rest of the books* Well....
"The 'popular crowd' are always like that. We see it every day, don't we? And I was representing the average. We all see this going on and never do anything about it" I glanced at the class and saw most of them weren't meeting my eyes. I was right. "We felt that if it was portrayed this way, it might help. Maybe it will, maybe it won't"
Miss Rea: That was an excellent idea.
The rest of the groups did theirs and then Miss Rea brought up the play. Regina Tori and I sat up straighter. We really wanted to get into this play. It had 6 lead roles, 3 female, 3 male. This was OUR time to shine.
