Edited with iMovie app. My voice is naturally soft... No adjustments in volume were made.
WARNING: BE PREPARED TO TURN DOWN YOUR VOLUME RIGHT BEFORE 2:23
RESULTS:
test 1 - iphone 4 only, no external mic
test 2 - with iphone headset (BETTER than #1)
test 3 - Giant Squid Audio Lab iPhone Omni Microphone (no change from #1 or useless... and when I used the kV iphone adapter there was no sound... in other words, IT DOES NOT WORK with iPhone 4)
test 4 - Sennheiser shotgun mic using kVconnection's 'iPhone Adapter 3.5mm 4 conductor TRRS Male to 3.5mm Microphone Input Jack' (BEST SOUND QUALITY... but inconvenient carrying it)
test 5 - Audio-Technica ATR 288W (pro88) wireless, also using the kVconnection iphone adapter (GREATEST VOLUME PICKUP with a bit of noise and static)
The senhizer sounded perfect. Where you having to use a preamp/mixer too.

Cool. running my own tests now (more for music, concert webcasting) and I find useful your video comparison here, also another guy on youtube geerlingguy has a good iphone 4 external mic test clip on youtube. Thanks guys. Helpful. See some concert vids on my channel recorded with various configurations, iPhone 4, Kodak zi8 cam, built in mics, external Shure mics. Working on more new rigs to try and compare soon.
