Jacob imprinted on Paul, but is afraid and won't admit it cause he knows that Paul will laugh at him or get angry. Jacob doesn't phase cause then the pack can read his mind, and Sam get suspicious.
In the end, Leah gets attaced by a vampire, and Jacob phases to save her, and Paul and the others see that he imprinted on Paul.
Jacob gets hurt and memories of Paul flashes through his mind.
