The good - Easy to pick up and play. Very fun and entertaining combat. Game is longer than most 3rd person shooters. Game will challenge you even on Normal mode. Gameplay has some variety. Easy game to Platinum. Gruesome finishing blows.

The bad - Shooting mechanics are decent. Enemy AI while playing stealth based missions are retarded. Game suffers from skipping and animation glitches. Story is predictable and rarely ever interesting.

@davu64 lol loyal to Sony? Metal Gear Solid was on both the PS1, Gamecube (Twin Snakes), PC, and Gameboy Color. Metal Gear Solid 2 Subsistence was on the PS2, Xbox, and PC. The Metal Gear games before the "Solid" series were on the Nintendo consoles. Only Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4 were Sony exclusives. The Ac!d series is exclusive to the PSP.

The Metal Gear franchise is all over the place.

Did you check out the DLC. I saw the DLC first and now I think I want buy this game on the cheap. There's a horde type mode with bosses called Riot Control. Assault on the 87th Precinct lets players be the ENEMIES! GAC Sniper, Brawler and Tank characters. In addition, the previously exclusive “Jack Pack” and “Shadow Pack” are also included in the “GAC Pack” allowing players to access armor for Jack, stealth camouflage for Shadow, an “action mode” with explosive rounds gunplay, and a “noir mode”.
