[How To] Jailbreak iPod Touch 2G 3.1.1 - Windows

To downgrade:-

Fist put your device into DFU mode, hold the home and the power buttons for 10 seconds then release the power and continue to hold the home button until iTunes recognizes it in recovery mode. Once you have it in DFU mode, you will need to hold shift then restore and select the 3.0 firmware for iPod Touch 2G. You can download the firmware from my site ( download section).

i did everything the video & description told me... when i was updating to the custom firmware it gave me the 1601 error =/

Keep trying.. This will work. Try putting it into DFU mode one more time, then if that fails with a 1600 error message then do a restore when your iPod is normal.

When I tried Downgrading my ipod, it was stuck on the Recovery mode screen (with the Itunes logo and plugin) and so I downloaded Blackra1n but that keeps on giving me errors. Then I downloaded blackbreeze and that gives me errors like this everytime I hit "Fix my ra1n!"

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Of you click Quit, the application will close Immediately.

File not found.
