  • Hey Grifola, great work, I only get frustrated becuase I cannot find any. I t is March 20 2010 and I guess it is too early . Please tell when and where would be good here in southwestern Pennsylvania. Thank's.

  • I really can't tell you when they will be up in Pen. You can go to NAMA ( North American Mycological Association ) and click on affiliated clubs, and find your state and click on that club. They will be able to tell you when morels will start fruiting in your area. Happy hunting !!!

  • my step dads buddy is taking us up there to northern michigan the week of mothers day to hunt shrooms,I cant wait, he mentioned those black ash,we dont have black ash here in southern ohio,Im looking forward to seeing them, any tips?

  • Check dead & dying elm , old apple orchards, mixed hardwoods, and cottonwood. You're going at a prime time too. I go to Lewiston to pick , if I can stay out of Tally's bar & grill.

  • sounds pretty much the same as down here.....hey man thanks alot, good luck this year.......not like you wolverines need any when it comes to morels, haha

  • Thanks, and thanks for watching !! Hopefully this year will be good for both of us !! The darn turkeys are scratching up some of my best spots and the morel count is going down. Gonna have to get a few of them to go with the morels. Hey, that sounds good. Morel stuffed wild turkey !

  • THANKS WILL DO SO.

  • Thanks for watching !! These are white morels ( morchella esculenta ) After these are done the big foots ( morchella crassipes ) come out . Sometimes they get over a foot tall and weigh over a pound each.

  • Great video! ^_^

Those look delicious, and they are pretty big!

I can't wait to find some this year.

    *}Peace{*

  • Hi Dave !! Sometimes it takes me awhile to answer. You should be out in the woods right now, for your area. The black morels should be up there. Here in central Mi. it's a couple of weeks yet. Cut them in half, length wise, flour them and fry them in OLEO , not butter. Butter burns too quick . Extra morels can be dried and stored in air tight containers for years.
