Suzannah traces her family history to Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side. She was outraged after NYU destroyed St. Ann's Church, a historical structure dating back to 1847. She started blogging, bought an iPhone, and learned how to use a MacBook. And in the process, she turned her anger into activism.
Listen to Suzannah talk about how she uses social media sites, like YouTube and Blogspot, to communicate important political information. Her courageous videos have exposed shady crowd control activities at political debates, and she has confronted local politicians, who can generally count on getting a free pass from the mainstream media.
How Suzannah is revolutionising how politics is reported in New York is that whenever the mainstream media fails to report stories that are important to voters, Suzannah reports her own stories and posts them on her blogs and on YouTube. For example, at a City Council Debate that took place In August 2009, Suzannah used breakthrough Apple iPhone technology to create and post videos directly to YouTube, live from the street.
In this video, Suzannah talks about some of the infrastructure problems of New York City, over-development, mass displacement, Con Edison bills, the controversial 2009 New York City mayoral election, internet activism, and the importance of public artwork.

YouTube Don't believe the news, New Yorkers are angry & will not vote for BLOOMBERG! posted 5/4/09 way before anyone else would even entertain the reality that would shake the media machine here in NYC up! Also go to the YouTube search engine and type in NYU The Villager. I has just gotten 3gS and I threaten them with posting my tube live from the street of them turning away a senior in a wheel chair & I did! We exposed illusion of democracy, Thanks & gratitude you do great work!
