If 6 Million Jews would have had guns, perhaps there would have been more Jewish heroes than victims.

  • My "If I only had a gun" situations are based on fact. The old "look at Europe" comparison is based on nonsense. - The public is not allowed to own guns in Haiti, Mexico, most South American countries and most African nations. The crimes in these gun controlled nations far outweigh the US crime rate. Cuba is a good example of gun control lowering the crime rate. Perhaps there the gun control advocate will find serenity.

  • @quedorf: You are trying to compare apples to oranges. The crime rate within the US has gone up as the demographics change. Europe's crime rate is also worsening due to their changing demographics. I lived in Germany for 10 years and saw first hand the crime rate rise. England is the perfect example of your argument being ludicrous, even the police cannot control the violence going on today due to changing demographics.

  • I was in total agreement with this video when I read the title. Did you know that in 2005, there was a news artical in multiple newspapers telling about how scotland has the second highest murder rate, for all of europe.

  • @lavaddic To try and compare the cause of violence in a third world country to the cause of violence in a first world country is again a pure act of spin. They have major social problems and huge poverty issues, which also lead to a higher crime rate.

Lastly yes the events you use as an example are facts, BUT have you ever wondered why the US has such a vastly larger number of these events to choose from? Perhaps because the number of violent crimes is much larger. And why is this? Guns for part

  • @lavaddic But Germany intentional homicide rate since 2000 has dropped to a 0.86 per 100 000 population from 1.25. The US has also dropped to a reasonable? 5.0 from 5.5. The UK is at a low of 1.28 in 2009 from 1.70 in 2000. No matter how you choose spin it, the US has problems with guns, that Europe does not. I have also lived in Europe, and the US, and if you do not notice the staggering difference, then you are not looking very hard.

  • This argument is ludicrous. Most if not all of your "if I only had a gun" scenarios, a gun was involved. If your hypothesis of gun control laws kills more, then the US should have a much lower violent crime rate than the European countries with gun control, or Canada with gun control. BUT the US has a much higher crime rate. Why is this. Because easy access to guns in the US.
