On November 10, 2009, we received 19 horses from Baltimore City. After spending a majority of their time living in stalls prior to their arrival to us, we wanted to get them turned out in a field to stretch their legs as soon as we could. This video was taken on a cold and rainy day, but that didn't stop these horses from kicking up their heels and having a blast. Clearly, these horses were happy to be breathing in some fresh air, eating green grass, and having room to roam and run.

  • Why did the city of Baltimore have these horses? Were they drawing carriages in a park or something like that?

  • @Erydanus The horses are owned by "Arabbers" and are used to pull carts around the city, off of which they sell fruits and vegetables.

  • @conchron42 What a sad way to look at horses. That big green thing they are in is not a cage, but is a pasture with plenty of water, grazing and companions. Even in a cold rain, it's horse heaven.

  • Look at those tails held high! Roll, baby, roll! Careful with that sloppy section!

  • From one cage to another.. at least they have some room though,,

  • This makes it all the more heartbreaking when you remember the deplorable conditions they were rescued from. It's a beautiful sight to see them the way they were meant to be.

  • wow look at Miller! He looks so happy!

    They all look happy!

did they ever have turn out prior to DE?

    great video :]

  • Now they can get the happiness they so deserve !!!! A beautiful vid. Thank you

  • Those look like some happy ponies.
