The "wave" is not an illusion it is a delusion. Enlightenment is not eternal bliss, it is the recognition of the egoic delusion. The ego still remains but is now aware of the delusion and can "act" accordingly.

so the wave is not an illusion. It is one with the ocean .... but it is impermanent and everchanging. The wave is not something solid that I can hang on to. It is a dynamic process just as my physical body is. In this sense it is not real. I don't have the same body that I had yesterday or even a few seconds ago.

If the physical world is so real then why is it not visible in deep sleep or even in dream sleep or in nirvikalpa samadhi? In dream sleep another illusory world takes over. The physical world is visible only to the illusory I concept which has to depend on a gross body which is constantly decaying and subject to death.. Therefore the world is as illusory as the illusory I concept (ego) which depends on a decaying body to function. So in reality only Consciousenss/ Awareness is not an illusion.

The Ocean would have to be considered Consciousness Itself so therefore everything being cognized IS an illusion. Conciousness, being formless, cannot be an illusion and can't be NOT an illusion. ;-) I think.
