Holly Spangenberg, 13, performing movements I and II of F.M. Veracini's "Sonata in E Minor" for Violin and Piano (Michelle Hynson, accompanist). The performance was given March 8, 2009, at the Charles Allis Art Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In April 2008 Holly auditioned for and won a spot in this Honor Recital sponsored by the Milwaukee Music Teachers Association (MMTA). Holly, a homeschooled student from Thiensville, Wisconsin, began studying violin just before her 6th birthday.
I can claim to have started learning at a younger age, but that's all. The time she has spent practicing and studying is obviously impressive.
