At any given time, up to 60,000 people are waiting for kidney transplants. But unfortunately, there are not enough donor organs to meet that demand. That's where living-donor kidney transplantation can make a big difference. More on what it means to be a living donor from a couple who went through the process at Mayo Clinic.
You can call Kay Kosberg @ Mayo Clinic (donor coordinater) 866-249-1648. She will send u a lab kit and u can call your local Red Cross Special Draws Unit and they will schedule you to bring in ur kit and do the lab (no fee) and mail it back to Kay. Thats the first step.
