On Saturday 26th June 2010, at 11am on the Festival Square, Lothian Road, Edinburgh, the Avalon Boys' soft shoe ditty "At the Ball" from Laurel and Hardy's film Way Out West started to play. In the film, Stan and Ollie dance in a beautifully understated way - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SvuNcPx2dg . In tribute to Stan and Ollie, and to launch the 81/2 Foundation, Mark Cousins and Tilda Swinton, gathered together friends and hangers-onners and invited them to gather on the Festival Square in Edinburgh at 11am and recreate Stan and Ollie's dance. The result is attached. There is a long intro before the dancing starts - it was fab!
Absolutely fantastic, well done everyone! A tremendous tribute to the greatest comedy duo of all time.
