  • Ahhh, I'm sure the Albertans will be pleased to hear that there is global warming. Minus 46 degree temps today in Edmonton with windchills below minus 50.

Perhaps all the protesters should gather there for a demonstration.

  • If only I could reach you - your inability to understand the difference between "weather" and "climate" is sad. Read the Canadian or United States National Climate Change Assessments - good science.

  • Here is your science.

95% of greenhouse gases come from water vapour (your hero scientists forgot to add that part btw).

Less than 5% of greenhouse gases comes from CO2 in which 95% of that comes from natural causes leaving 5% of all CO2 produced coming from human activity.

Do the simple math and realize that total human contributions to greenhouse gases is a small fraction of 1%.

    Does this "reach you"??????

  • take an atmospheric science class. You would learn about the science. water vapour is the most important GHG where ever water vapour is available. But in dry climates, including all high latitude regions, there is virtually NO water vapour most of the year. Those areas are warming radically.

Thanks for the discussion. I will stay with the 99.99% of publishing scientists that agree humans are radically warming the climate.

  • Idiotic, scaremongering drivel.

Watch this, instead, and understand the science:

  • Post your credentials. Tell us how many scientific papers in reputable scientific journals you have published to support your viewpoints. There are lots of sceptics - and all but a couple have NO meaningful climate science publication record. But the thousands of good climate scientists who publish and do real research are all united on the terrible threats of global warming.

  • I have a question: What should the temperature be?

If all this warming started in 1880 when global temperatures were first measured (poorly and inconsistently at that), what is the ideal temperature for:

    -Auckland, NZ

    -Nairobi, KEN

    -New York, NY

    -Tokyo, JPN

    -London, UK

    Do tell.

  • Most people are gravely ignorant about the climate.

None of the politicians seem to have any knowledge of climate, weather, mathematics, physics or science in general..

Every climatologist knows that CO2 rises app 800 years after a rise in temperature.

    Temp first then CO2

The SUN's activity has a nearmost perfect correlation with the earths temperature, whereas CO2 has none, unless you screw around with the figures to make it look like so.

Which now has been disclosed to be the case!

  • I notice how the term "global warming" has now shifted to the term "climate change". The climate has been changing for 4 billion years without human help. It is you who is unable to figure that out.

The fact that there is a 0.6 degree difference in 150 years is pretty dam consistant and normal according to the Earth's history.

Promoting fear and hysteria is not science. Do the simple math to figure out the human impact.

  • I agree with you. I don't think that a degree or two warmer is a disaster, and I don't think that predictions of a greater warming than that are realistic. I also think that claims that the whole warming is due to CO2 are simplistic, and not justifiable by the science, and any scientists who are involved in promoting that idea are being irresponsible.

Do you mean scientists like the ones over at the CRU. Take a good look at the software they were using and ask yourself if the their grant money was well spent. I don't deny that the planet has warmed, I just don't think it's our problem. I would like a world that was a few degrees warmer.
