Are those peas? Baby Crays are soo cool! My Crayfish has about 200 babies on her. Could you answer a few questions? When do the babies leave the mother to venture off? Does the mother ever start eating the babies? If so, when? When do the babies start eating each other? Thanks!
Yes, those are peas. Peas are probably their favorite vegetable, although they need a variety of foods. They like wood lice and other crustaceans and eat their own shells after molting. Shells may be the only food that won't rot and pollute the water. I don't recall how long it takes the babies to hatch, but they and the mother will eat each other if they are hungry. Overcrowding will also cause them to fight, and with 200 babies, you're sure to have that problem. Good luck!
