This video is a response for my video called "DIY Track Dolly - works on CURVED and STRAIGHT tracks!"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7vMZaQ9-eI

That video shows how I made my dolly.

This video:
My experiments using a curved track - and they are successful! These curved PEX pipes (about $4.50 each) can be linked together much the same as my straight PVC tracks were. (though I only bought these two initially, since I wasn't sure they would work so I don't show this on the vid). I also show how to narrow the curve for tighter shots. There are probably better ways to do this, but this does work. I'd REALLY like to have some thick air compressor hose or something as that is more easy to make the curves more fluid and dynamic. But that is pretty expensive. I am all about doing stuff on budget. Please comment. Yeah - I know the sample footage is not great as far as composition and subject matter, but... it is winter and I did this in a hurry. Please leave comments and feedback. If you build your own using my ideas or design, let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching!

  • What thickness is the PEX pipe being used? I'm looking online they have different thickness sizes.

  • @reo702 It is 3/4 inch. I wanted 1 inch, but they only carried the 3/4 size in the store I went to. But as I said in the video, because of the way my wheels are situated, the 3/4 is fine.

  • can you use some garden hoses too?

  • @SuperBNProductions If the garden hoses are THICK. Usually they are not that thick walled, and will collapse under the weight of the dolly. If there was a way to inject rubber into the hose and fill it, that would work well. If any of you know how to do THAT, I am interested! Solid rubber hoses are EXPENSIVE.

  • @musichistorynut Hey Super B mentioned garden hose like you said not thick or rigid enough, how about hose such as compressor hose. Comes in many sizes and is really stiff but can bend and hold the shape.

  • @az13klf Go ahead and try it! I'd like to hear about your experiences!

  • @10tmoore The teeth? Seriously? You need to focus more on what the vid is about. :)

  • @KATastrophicKidd He he. I don't. But then again - comfort and convenience beat out fashion every day of the week. But, if I had known this silly vid would get so many views, I MIGHT have decided to wear something different.

  • Thanks for the vid! Subscribed!

  • Brilliant!!! Making my own dolly right now. I'm going to try pex pipe!

  • @PhunnyPunny ONLY if they swivel. Watch the video how I made my dolly and you'll see what I mean.

  • If i built mine with roller blade wheels in the same formation as your wheels. I have 4 wheels on a board (one each corner) will it still follow the curves?

  • thatzzz cool

  • @musichistorynut Hey thanks! I plan to build this soon, maybe even today!
