Bees are not technically designed to fly, they are just not aerodynamically efficient.
So how do they fly. In this short clip from Channel 9 Australia on Richard Hammonds Invisible World you will get the first hand knowledge of how bees are capable of flying with the aid of slow motion camera work.
Bees are very important to our food source due to their pollination activates. Unfortunately they are being threatened by the varroa mite. Australia is the last continent not yet infected by this mite. It has been said that once the last bee dies we will have mass starvation in 5 years.
