I was woken up by these sounds and in my half-asleep state it took me a while to figure out what was going on. The coyotes were about 200' from my bedroom window, and it was loud as crap. Scared the bejeezus out of me until I figure out it was coyotes.

It's really creepy when I'm camping out in Central Oregon and I hear that way off in the distance, then a few minutes it's considerably closer, then again even closer yet, sometimes completely surrounding the campsite...
It's even creepier when they begin silently running though camp and brushing past the tent. I know they're not a threat, but when the boy gets freaked out and starts crying, I can't help but get a little spooked myself... Just in case, I sleep atop a rifle - mostly for bears.

That's weird sounding. Only thing I ever get woken up by are the dogs next door which bark at 10pm, midnight, 2am, 4am, 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, noon, 1Pm, 2Pm, 3Pm... Get the point ? They bark for something to do. Very annoying and stupid.
