WoW....no kidding....glad you were sporting a Shoei......looks like so harmless...but dang...!!! At least, it didn't high side you to the other side. Seeing this....and your helmet today....it held up really well indeed.

That sucks. Well this shows why you wear your helmet! Imagine this without one, then watch it again heh...

Thanks for the info. I've had the SHawk do that on stock tires once. When backing-off, you have to move the throttle just a tiny tiny tiny bit, maybe a millimeter to avoid it. Glad you're okay.

LOL, whoops, I get it now. Happy B-day then on the 13th! The RC51's are awesome and can be had nowadays for reasonable money. I ended up getting an '06 GSX-R 750 for track days and the 'hawk is back to being my street ride. :)

Lol nah I didn't go down on my birthday, you did. I loved my superhawk though, I'm gonna be looking into an R-51 soon.
I can't see where he went wrong. Looks like possibly front-braking in a turn?

The rear end stepped out about a foot and a half. I backed off instead of maintaining the throttle, and when the rear tire regained traction it upset the chassis, and the front wheel tucked and threw me down. It was a cold day, my tire was not in the best of shape, and the compound (med.) probably too hard for the conditions.

I had a 98, sold it. Funny this happened on my birthday. Hope it's up and running again.

Yep, thanks. The damage was fairly minimal thanks to frame sliders (T-Rex), and everything is being or has been restored. Sorry to hear you went down on your birthday!
