  • Just listening to the soundtrack brings tears to my eyes. It reflects both the book and the movie so well. And am I the only one that realized how amazingly accurate the movie was to the book? The movie was right on target. I wish more movies could reflect the books so well. When I read the book I even imagined it in monotone colors. And what do you know? This director is amazing.

  • @LinktheHylianHero Agreed. John Hillcoat's other film The Proposition is also amazing.

  • this is one of my favorite movies

  • @Wedwickboy Have you seen The Proposition? Same director, screenplay and OST by Nick Cave. I think you would like it very much.

  • The Road got no oscar nominations. Now I know the oscars are such a fucking joke. How was Viggo not nominated for best actor?

  • really sums up the mood of the movie

  • Amazing movie. So good..

  • @LinktheHylianHero I know exactly what you mean. Most movie directors take creative license and change the book but it really is very accurate and just how I imagined it. The soundtrack is dark and depressing along with the atmosphere of the story. Its a perfect fit.

  • @ClassicVGM Agreed. This film was missed by so many and on so many levels. I think the cheesy cookie-cutter trailer with its Mad-Max-style action theme may have worked to fill some seats, but it didn't help in setting the film apart for potential viewers.

  • @aimlessalchemist I would love to see that. In terms of The Road, I discovered Cormac's work very late in the game, and this book of his was one of the only to make me tear up while reading it (and that's a hard thing for me to do). The film was wonderful, especially in that they stayed true to Cormac not naming names and being vague as to what 'the event' was. People go on and on about what caused it, but that was NEVER the point of this very important work. Thanks for posting. :-)

  • @renob2008 Well the piano part you hear is just F, A, C (repeated) the E, A, C (repeated also) the finally D, A, C (after repeating that you start it over again) that's all the piano plays in this.

  • i really need to sit down in front of my piano and learn to play this

  • @aimlessalchemist Watch his take on Red Dead Redemption.

  • John Hillcoat should o more movies.

  • @LinktheHylianHero I agree absolutely. The book was the most emotional piece of work i have ever read. The movie was an amazing interpretation of this incredible book. The soundtrack to this film makes me speculate life as a whole, and honestly pity those who have not experienced this book and film.

  • Lots of Australian people in this! :)
