  • @zwanzigquadratcm Who says civilization don't work for them? I have observed some of these Penans are doing well in their lives. Don't ever think Penans are so stupid that they don't want civilization. They really want to be civilized, educated... it is just the approach need to be more specific for this group. I've been to schools with mostly Penan students, some of them are really excelled in their studies. It shows that they're genius and knowledge-hungry people. Don't underestimate them.

  • I have quite a number of Penan friends. Most of them prefer to be educated and civilized. This documentary really suits them well. They're no short of genius...some of them even far more smarter than other ruling races. Stop thinking Penans as an uncivilized, stupid and anti-development people. They're slowly progressing and changing. Pls learn their culture from they themselves, not just by hearsays. I know the sentiment is there, but nothing remains forever, so do the Penan's nomadic culture.

  • WTH? Who sponsored this video?

  • Sorry, but the message of this documentary seems to be pro education, pro civilisation. There we go. The Penans like so many other native tribes dare to take a step "forward" and most of them are not getting anywhere because civilisation doesn't work for people with no "civilized" background. The other thing I was was wondering about was: A Penan is working for Sarawak Chief Minister? The one who fucks up Penan lives? I hope I'm not getting the context right.

  • didn't work on me lionel richie brother....ur lot just want to rape d forest don't u?...shame on u n ur billionaire CM...when is enough is enough 4 u? when sarawak become a desert?

  • ...500 nomadic Penans? They should be left alone. Currently majority of their lands are owned by huge companies and on the realms of modern society, the weak end up being jobless and transformed into city nomads begging or scavenging for food.

  • i hope one day penan student will be succes 4 in any wat thre interest..penan arise!!!
