  • Hi. Can yu tell me if the keys on the JV-80 are semi-weighted? Thanks

  • Yes they are.

  • I agree with this einsteinonthebeach fellow - Tokke, you need to curve more or you'll never have technical facility and evenness of tone. The degree to which you curve however is up to you. Everybody's different and you guys can't just preach your technique to someone else unless they're paying to learn from you. I practically play with my fingernails sometimes, it's the most articulate for me and provides the most stability for my style of playing. That said, Tokke - you should curve more.

  • I agree. My curve is not enough probably because I never learned proper technique from the beginning.

  • Why care about the way he plays. I like the way you play, and I like the feelings in the music you create! :) Keep up the good work! :)

  • Anyways, nice improv sir, but it was rather static. Sounded filmy - especially when you threw in the string patch. Beautiful stuff in there.

  • You clearly know nothing about piano. Go and practice what you preach, Youtube isn't a place for ignorant spammers like you.

  • if you curve your fingers as if holding a ball will create tension on the palms and fingers wil not run. that is old school. it is not how it looks but it is how it sounds and fingering depends on the playing comfort of the player to execute it properly.

  • You need to work on your playing technique. Imagine that you're holding a ball in your hand and then keep that arch shape when playing the keys. The tips of the fingers place on the keys, never the flat part of the digit. You wind up hyper-extending and other stuff. If you watch your hands you'll notice a lot of things that aren't conducive to good hand health or good piano playing.

You can't call yourself a decent pianist until you master fundamental techniques and rudiments.
