I added a custom Magnaflow exhaust to my 1994 Q45t, and made this video so my friends could tell what it sounds like inside the car.

The reason the car went past the factory redline of 6,800, is because it has a custom programmed NICO ECU that increased the rev limiter to 7,200 RPM.

My tach reads 7,500 RPM but on the Dyno, it is really 7,200 RPM. I have seen a couple Q45's that the tach was off by a few humdred RPM. My speedo is off 3 MPH as well. When the speedo says 155, it is really only running 152. We checked this on the Dyno, as well.

  • is it an auto? i dont understand what ru shifting at 0:09?

  • @runninfoo398 It is an automatic. I was shifting at 7,200 RPM on the tach, which is off a few hundred from actual (we saw this on the Dyno). I raised the factory rev limiter to 7,200 I believe it is factory set at 6,600 or 6,800. We got the car up to 155 in third gear on the Dyno. That baby was screaming! We drew out a few neighbors on that pull.

  • hey i have a q45 too!!! how much power are u pumping on the dyno?? to the wheel power??

  • It is puting out 250 to the wheels, which is about 340 at the crank. Originally, it had 270 HP at the crank.

It is no drag monster, but is still a lot of fun to get on it.

  • hey i have had my 94 q for 5 years now try letind off for a milisecond and that will get rid of that gay long shift to 2nd

  • I have tried that, but it is actually a couple tenths faster to let it do it's thing.

I have a shop building me a trick transmission for the car.

  • Japanese V8's sound better because of tighter tolerance engineering =P

  • @cleanJDMperfection hear an LS1 lately buddy?

  • sounds real nice. japanese v8s sound so much nicer than american spec v8s. example 4.6L mustangs sound like some1 hitting a rusty oil drum with a hammer haha.

  • @anime891 theres really no way to acurately guess how much power a car would lose would lose through the drivetrain without a dynometer.

  • 300 to the crank is about 260.. 340 would bring it up to at least 290.

  • any way to get this ecu?

  • dude... nice..... so will just a chip/ exhaust hit 250 down at wheels?
