I agree!! I think John Carpenter doesn´t give himself enough credit. Besides being one of the best filmmakers around, he's such a telented composer. The music in Christine is wonderfull in evoking Arnie´s yearning of love, acceptance; his doom for being so vulnerable and such a perfect victim for Christine... something all misfits can identify with. And then, the menace in the themes for Christine´s attacks: the relentlessness, the strange and haunted.
