What do you all think about the reliability of the rim fire? I'm inclined towards an FN57 because of its large clip, easy use and center fire rounds. opinions?

Overall, centerfire ammunition is more reliable than rimfire. However, some brands of 22 rimfire are very, very reliable. You just have to be selective.

The 22 magnum has better penetration than does a 38 Special. The Kel-Tec PMR-30 gives the user the ability to put 31 holes into the heart or brain of an attacker in about five seconds, with very little recoil. That should permanently cure any robber's anger problem.

You are correct, and a 44 magnum beats a 9mm, and a 454 beats a 44 magnum. A heavily-armed Marine regiment beats them all. The point is that many folks, for whatever reason, cannot handle the recoil of a stiff 9mm load in a small pistol. The PF-9 fits the pocket better, but the PMR-30 is much, much easier for most folks to shoot well, and to shoot quickly.Every handgun is a compromise.
