  • hello, mine is finished and i have helped several others do the same on there 53-56 f100's this worked out better then i could hope for. thanks for doing it and giving me a better install then a pinto kit

  • @miketlane Glad to hear that. I almost have my cab swap done just a few more things.

  • ok i found the other guy that you were talking of. he did a mercury front end and says it works just fine with the stock CV wheels but he is running 2000 mustang wheels and still has 1.5 inches of clearance. So Friday i will be picking up my 05 crown vic front end. i got it tires and wheels with every thing between for $400 ill be doing a video too :) thanks allot you saved me from a mustang 2 kit

  • @miketlane Hey that's great! Sounds like you got a good deal on your C/V assembly (I paid $500 for mine and now I have to replace the rack because of a bad leak). Looking forward to seeing your videos. Good luck with your project and God bless!

  • @miketlane i will have to check on the wheel stance. When I first put the front end on it you could look down the side of the truck and see the difference between it and the original 9" rear end. But it was all good when I put the 97 C/V 8.8 rear end in it.

  • @miketlane Oh yes I still have it stay tuned on my video post as we are getting a 69 Ranger cab and bed ready to go in place of the current cab and bed. It should be a much better looking truck after this.

  • @dad23boys thanks for responding. you still have it? yeah 34 is what i hear between the frame rails and that is what i hear 53-90's is. the measurement i was wondering about was how much wider the wheel would be. the wheel flange to wheel flange. im told that it is 3 inches wider then the i-beam drum to drum but that was a guess. i used a 2000 mustang rear axle in my 54 and it was a little wider but fits with offset wheels. thanks very much this is a swap that will annoy all the mustang2 makers

  • @miketlane I done this a year and a half ago so bare with my memory. I think it was some where around 34". I have been told this swap will work on any 1/2 ton Ford truck from 53 or 54 to 96. There is a guy somewhere on you tube that done this to a truck around the same year as yours. He went with a mod engine like me but swapped it to carbs instead of keeping the FI like me.

  • hi i have been looking at doing a Crown vic swap in my 54 f100. would you mind giving me the measurement between the wheel mounting surfaces? so i know how much wider it is then my I-beam. thanks nice project, i wish my shop teacher did this
