  • It seems that other people are more thankful than you, and they don't have a problem showing it.

  • What exactly am I am being thankful to?. I am thankful to cirumstance, my family & my genetic predisposition for determination, I certainly don't have to pray to them.

  • I make it a habit never to trust a man dressed like a Sith lord.. ;)

I dont think you should feel uncomfortable. The only reason so many heads were bowed was peer pressure and social anxiety, not belief. In situations like this, I rarely even bow my head.

"Fuck 'em!" I say inside. I can think on the world and consider a wonderful variety of issues without supplicating or prostrating myself to anyone or anything.

    Interesting vid :D

  • I get really incomfortable in those situations... especially when its around my brother's family who is still relgious. If you dont believe in god and dont have anyone to pray to, then you shouldnt have to feel obligated to bow your head along with the rest of them

  • subed ftw

  • well, seeing a group of people seriously engage in complete nonsense always makes me feel awkward..

I wanna jump up and say. Stop this nonsense.

But what i do now, is just get up and quietly walk out of the room.

  • ...situation he describes.

Personally, when I find myself in similar situations (which occurs occassionally; my religious friends often invite me to partake in their various services and ceremonies), I find it best to simply be respectful in one's non-adherence as Tempus was in the...

  • For me, I am a Wiccan and so when this happens I just sit there looking slightly at teh floor, showing no interest but at the same time not being disrespectful. I always feel awkward especially when in lesson (when I was a helper one day) I had to teach kids about Jesus. That was really uncomfortable.

  • Sit proudly, I say...

group dynamics can easily make you feel ostracized...but personally, I dont know if I would have been able to keep from laughing to myself.

I also recommend trying to make direct eye contact with the pastor. It makes them think you're possessed. I always recommend passively fucking with people whenever possible.

  • Hmmm... I'm sorry I said I knew "exactly" how you must have felt. Of course I don't ;-)

    You get the point.
