The KORG D1600 MkII Digital Recording Studio is truly a studio-in-a-box. The accompanyng music is the onboard demo shipped with the unit and was excellently recorded on this beautiful machine. (Don't mind the meters on the video; I was playing a different song while recording the video!) The D1600 provides the utmost in sound quality, with no data compression in recording and playback. Select 8 track simultaneous recording / 16 track playback @16 bit, or 4 track simultaneous recording / 8 track playback @24 bit. Your projects will sound amazing, from initial recording to final mastering! When the internal hard drive is full, you can easily remove it, along with the hard disk cartridge, and install another hard disk and cartridge. Rear panel XLR and 1/4 inch connectors for Channels 1-4, plus switch-able phantom power for each of the XLR inputs. There are tons of insert effects on each track, and mastering and final effects when you're ready to burn. Match tempo between recordings of different tempo, or fit recording into a specific time length. Audio data in WAV format can be imported or exported via USB, and imported from ISO9600 Level1 format CD's. Besides using MIDI to synchronize the D1600 to other devices (including another D-series recorder!), you can automate your mixes: fader, pan, EQ, etc., parameters with an external sequencer, control the effects in real time, and change scenes via MIDI program change messages. Store "snapshot" Scene automation of fader, pan, EQ and effect send levels, and name your scenes for easy recall! And these are just a few of the great things you can do. Just Google "Korg D1600 MkII" and be amazed!

  • does anybody have any input on using the d1600 as an audio interface via usb for going into the computer to transmit audio into a DAW (logic). ive had my turn inside and out of the manual and havent had any lug with trial and error. is it simply not possible?

  • @njsnowjunky I believe it's just not possible. The only way to get anything from the D1600's USB to your computer is if you save your song onto the USB drive of the D1600 then transfer the audio file thru the USB into your computer as a wav file. Or just get an audio/MIDI interface...

  • I have a D1600 too.Great recorder.Do you think these are real drums or a drum machine.I wish I could get that sound when recording a drum kit.

  • @jsnhrv The drums are definitely live and real. So with the rest of the band! Great recording, huh?

  • nice one. ive got a d 16 myself i bought it second hand tho and the demo songs had been deleted. always wondered what they sounded like. great piece of kit

  • @elchewo1 You bet it's nice! Just wondering why your set doesn't have the demo on board even if it's second hand; mine was used too. I believe you can "re-install" the OS and that should contain the demo. If I remember correctly, googl-ing for it's OS and installing via USB (SCSI in your case?) or CD-ROM should set you right. Of course, tinkering with the OS may just screw up everything so beware! Thanks for your comment!

  • @andrewrflorentino can you connect a mixer to a digital recording studio?

  • @andrewrflorentino can you mixers to digital recording studio's?

  • @TheJimmyfroShow Uhhh...maybe your disk is full? Kidding aside, if your machine allows replacement of the hard drive, then do just that. Try installing a larger capacity drive; mine has 120gGB IDE now and it works perfectly. If not, try transferring files to your computer.

  • @acf1203 . My d1600 has recently been stopping during recording ERROR, DISK FULL. Do u have a diagnosis?

  • Nice unit. My d1600 has recently been stopping during recording ERROR, DISK FULL. Anyone have a diagnosis?

  • @acf1203 Cool, thanks for the info!

  • Respond to this video... Nothing but a Royal funeral will do...my condolences!

  • @Whyrendog I just changed hard drives after my stock 40GB was used up. It has to be the older IDE drive (as opposed to the SATA ones these days) and I believe it'll accept up to 120GB although I only installed a 60GB drive cuz that's all I had at the time. Once you power it up with the new drive installed it automatically instantiates and installs itself and you're good to go after a few seconds!

  • @COLLIE564 I have a pdf copy of the ZR76. It's just a souped up MR76 but basically the same functions. Send me your email and I'll send you the file
