you are holding the rope very insequrely when moving your right hand turther along the rope. you just kinda pinch it to your left hand with one finger while holding the hand OVER the carabiner. if that girl falls at a bad time, you will need a lot of luck to grab that rope again before she hits the ground
@guiltyvictim I have noticed this with Americans also and I would not want anyone to belay me in this way as I would not trust the system, I have seen some of your videos and your friend chris looks like he is a pretty good climber
I notice that style of belay a lot amongst Americans - the dead-rope's transferred to the live-rope's hand, whilst I've always been taught to transfer my live-rope hand to the dead-rope.
Personally feel safer that way since I've got a firm grip on the rope if person falls during transfer, but I suspect the American's style is equally safe considering how many people climb with that style of belay!
@krymsonwulf you should never remove a hand from the right part of the belaying system. she is transferring the rope between hands to ensure if the climber slips atleast her left hand has a hold of the rope.

The belaying technique is strange; there is no need to bring the right hand up like that.
