i love this song more on the album "Fables of the reconstruction" version, i listened to that album in 2000 and it reminds me nice things, above all this song! Thanks to have posted it

Possibly my favourite R.E.M song. Saw them live back in 1985 playing a lot of the fables album. This song gets me deep. Reminds me of my first love (ha!) and my parents divorce which happened at the same time.

One of my favorite songs of all time.
Nice to find a soundboard of it. There's a couple floating around, but they are few and far between.
Nice performance. Michael hitting the falsetto is always good.
I nearly shat myself when I heard they did it live in Dublin. He hits the notes there too, which is surprising considering the years of un-filtered nicotine and alcohol damage his vocal cords have likely sustained in the last three decades.
I'm glad the band has come around to appreciating.
