Its sad in Florida you can not even get a job at Wal-Mart or become a garbage man due to EPA laws.I cant blame felons for what they do ,it seems like its the best route for most of them .

I'd say the real problem with the American criminal justice system is that is aimed towards punishment rather than rehabilitation. If we look at Norway, lowest murder rate in the world, you'd find out that prisons are not there to punish people but to teach them how to live in society. This generates more revenue than locking up people for 40 years
There needs to be a new approach to crime in the US if this is ever gonna change
Removing the third strike law would also be a good idea

I agree with most of what Kelly says. Beyond the need to protect the public from a few really dangerous individuals, prisons are a scandal in a so-called civilized society.
