The video and song is clearly about a guy who took advantage of the best girl he ever had and now sees her out doing bigger, better things with her life and he now sees that those were "the best days of his life." The video is clearly making the girl he's with currently look like an annoying nag and highlighting her personality, not her looks. YOU were the one to comment on looks. Sounds like someone went through a similar situation herself and is bitter about it...
