Hello. Do you still have your Steyr? If so, or if not & you remember - how would you go about cleaning the upper slide area. I suppose this would be considered a detailed cleaning rather than just a routine field strip cleaning. I have not fired mine as they were not available here in California - or was it the U.S.? Anyway, I was thinking the value would go up tremendously & I could make a quick profit - no such deal - as it soon became available here again. Anyway, I will try this.THX- JAMES.

This pistol is pretty good. But I really don't like the trigger reset. It's not that distinct compaired to all other pistols or firearms. Plus I wish my lighter striker spring I bought off you would have worked stright out of the package. I don't feel like polishing things up just to make it work. It's a good gun...shoots true...but not everything that I hoped it'd be. Also...I had alot of problems with several magazines falling apart doing emergency reloads. Parts flying everwhere on the ground

Thank you for this review, I have a later model Steyr, the only difference is there is no pin to remove before the release lever.

Thanks for the video. Great job

Could you please show how to change the stock sights for the Steyr M40 pistol? Thanks!

@lunker8 if you can't figure out how to get the slide assembly off you shouldn't evan own any gun at all.

Thank you. I'm in the process of obtaining the newer MA-1. Hopefully there isn't too much difference.

this is very helfull i never imagine how to do it and now that i see this video i can see how easy is to do it
I'm glad this video is so helpful. If pictures are worth 1000 words, videos are priceless.
i find the steyr so easy to dis-assemble that NOT detail stripping it for cleaning just seems lazy.
Good Luck and Good Shooting everyone!
