U Nu (1907-1995) was the first prime minister of independent Burma (now called Myanmar) after freedom was obtained in 1948 from British colonial rule. He was also a leader of the Buddhist revival and a noted writer. After being ousted by the military in 1962, he remained an opposition leader in exile and a proponent of democracy for Myanmar until his death, for more information please visit

  • Maung Nu, Thakin Nu then U Nu who was our great-grand proud of very-own leader together with General Aung San. We will never regret that U Nu was unqualified PM or leader. Actually we only need such kind of leader with U Nu's attitudes. He did very well and got marvelous results for Burma. Moreover, He try to save Burma in 1988 uprising, but burmese people who are poorest political knowledge were not aware of his attitude including Aung San Suu Kyi. Even she also young political sense in 8888.

  • U NU, one of the great leader of burma. You are my father favorite leader !!!
