Sun's Energy and Relationship with Earth's Life

- an excerpt from video #2 of the DVD series "Canticle to the Cosmos" by mathematical cosmologist Brian Swimme http://www.brianswimme.org/ , in which he tells the scientific story of the Universe with a feeling for its sacred nature. This excerpt is actually two pieces of the footage spliced together: in the first 5 minutes he presents something of the significance of the chlorophyll molecule for life on Earth, how its shape is particular to Sun-Earth relationship, and then in the last 5 minutes of it he speaks of how it is related to the retinol molecule - the vertebrate eye. It is published here with with Brian Swimme's permission. This video clip is used in the preparation for celebrating Spring Equinox (Eostar) in the year-long course in PaGaian Cosmology (http://pagaian.org) - celebrating Cosmogenesis: the Wheel of the Year as an expression of Cosmic Creativity and expressed in Triple Goddess metaphor.
