I think you're wrong. I think what happened was Tupac started witnessing injustice and felt that it was disgusting. He didn't like the way blacks treated other blacks. After thinking that he was set up by biggie smalls he started rapping about hate and ended up in jail he realized he needed to make a lifestyle change. He started reading, and THINKING and became hungry for knowledge. With this to his advantage, he started to recognize the easy route of how artists got to how they are.

think this over for just one second. the drive by was sloppy, so how come for such a sloppy drive by Tupac was the only one receiving the fatal wounds? why was he targeted and not everyone else in the convoy? how come Las Vegas police was nowhere to be found when this happened? on an average night during a minor scuffle the cops would show up almost instantaneously but not that night. how come the body guards were ordered not to bring guns? which later we find out the order was not given by Pac.
