So I believe San Jose has been doing this ever since they went automated with NorCal in 2001. Then in 2007 they switched to Green Waste, but thankfully kept this system.

So in San Jose residents have the option between making a pile, (I made the one at 8:30) or paying extra for a cart, which then is sometimes collected by an ASL, or the RL like in the video.

So enjoy!

  • Fantastic video. Love seeing some Tink Claw action. My town uses the same method, although I think the payloaders my town has are a lot bigger.

  • @Mike3141981 Thank you! Is your system weekly?

  • Dang Tony.....I think I could almost watch this ALL day!! First real footage of San Jose's trucks, definitely glad I could finally see it on video! This team is extremely fast and it would be fun doing this for them. Either job lol

Lovin that Pete, the LE on curb side and the sound of it just makes it awesome. Not to mention the best RL body ever. Really a good configuration on Green Waste Recovery's part, those dual tippers that can dump simultaneously....yeah awesome post!

  • @Trashman242 When I'm out there this December I'm planning on getting a good looong series of these guys again, and I'm hoping instead I'll find the old Volvo/ Heil they have a spare

Actually in CT we don't have yard waste collection. My town uses their 2 Caterpillar payloaders with Tink Claws to pickup the leaves each fall. The recent videos I put up are of them picking up the branches that fell during that freak October nor'easter.

  • UNBELIEVABLE ONE OF THE BEST FOOTAGE EVER im gonna watch part 2 i would get a cart and still make piles i would keep the cart for myself also its good how the truck carries a spare cart just in case their like a tag team! im gonna watch part 2!
