  • San Jose's finest! Have you ever read the eccentric piece Lester Bangs (Psychotic Reactions & Carburator Dung) wrote about the Count V?

  • No, not read that.

  • Another good version of 96 tears was done by a band called "The Fire Escape", which was Sky Saxon of the Seeds, along with some studio musicians. Also "Positively 13 O'clock did an interesting version.

As for the Count Five, I also always liked their song, "Double Decker Bus", and of course, their guest appearance on an episode of "The Munsters". was great fun.

    Thanks for posting.

And don't forget, when you visit Mars, you are the alien.

  • Thanks for the tip, I'll remember it next time i'm visiting Mars. Mind you I feel like an alien every time I visit London now, so it won't be very different.

  • Sounds just like Yardbirds so much so that they should be arrested and locked up for flagrant plagerism.

  • @Loofafa - Oh how I have learned the drumming in this tune, fantastic!

  • @willbgood65 --- Yeah, I've read it, it was included as part of Edsel's Best-Of CD release. And dumbass me thought it was all serious at first, had NO idea he was making up albums that this band NEVER released!!! I was pissed when I later found out these guys lasted one album & one album only........LOL!!!!!

  • I went to Foothill College with the drummer. Anybody know what happened to the San Jose band The People?

  • @psychkoala yes indeed , I love a good drummer. So many good drummers around in the sixties
