Kazakhstan passes restrictive religion law

Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan's president, has approved a new law aimed at putting an end to religious extremism.

The law forces all religious organisations to re-register and bans prayer in state institutions such as schools and prisons.

The country's chief imam believes that preventing Muslims from praying will antagonise the Kazakh public.

Al Jazeera's Robin Forestier-Walker reports from Kazakhstan's western city of Aktobe.

What these new movements propagate (like putting the bloody scarf on children and youth) is not ours! look into the history (kazakh girls in national costumes) FUCK OFF religious radicals, dont destroy the image of this country!

Scince and education this is a new sword of new ages. Why muslims always beaten by west countries, why they are guiltlessly invasion to muslims territories. We still can't move on from traditional lifestyle , saying that i don't encourage anything against shariat. We are just trying to keep peace in our country. Kazakhs are much differ on their view to Islam. We adopted Islam many centuries ago. Kazakh country was created by muslims in 15th century and never there were wars because of religion in or out of our lands.I am myself a muslim and im enough educated about islam to separate bad occupations from good. I wish to all muslim brothers be more outgoing , kind and not kill armless people, this is not what we should follow after.

The so-called radicals probably were drug dealers yet this was used to put in dumb laws against the mainstream Muslims. Society has changed and its quite unwise in the current times to be out of touch.

@Rebelass74 I don't know what you're talking about as Islam would not be so widespread without the Mongols. 3 out of 4 Mongol Empires had adopted Islam. They became Muslim through the Sufis who follow a mystical branch of Islam.
