Helicopter Mishap Injures Spectators

Several people were injured by tree branches knocked down by a Marine Osprey MV-22 helicopter in a Memorial Day event on New York's Staten Island. Firefighters say as many as seven people were taken to Richmond University Medical Center, and three others refused medical attention.

The marines have been giving this exact demonstration at the park with the same types of helicopters (4 of them) for the past several NYC Fleet weeks and no one has been injured in the years before. I was there with my two small children (luckily on the other side of the park) watching the show. I don't blame the pilots, they were just landing were they were supposed to. I think the fault lies with the security on the ground. They should have pushed the crowd further back.
