Qu'ils mangent de la brioche....

@gmaclaw , that is why I don't align myself with Conservatives OR Liberals. Both sides have viewpoints that appeal and repel me. I often feel that if your position is correct, then let the facts speak for themselves, all the reason that I do not like Fox News. They shouldn't insult my intelligence and just be honest and admit they have a conservative agenda.

@PungiFungi If they were more tolerant and open-minded then "political correctness" would not be so prevalent in media, on campus, etc. Liberals are the "thought police" -- they are tolerant only of those with whom they agree politically, This is a generalization of course, but assuming a roughly equal number of hard-core conservatives and hard-core liberals, it is very telling that those stifling the debate, shouting down speakers on campus, etc., are more often than not those on the left.

@gmaclaw , actually, Liberals are more open-minded and tolerant of opposing viewpoints...it is that they are not tolerant of the opinions of those who are narrow-minded and intolerant. So far in the media, I see only conservative talk show hosts would tell their guests to shut up.

@PungiFungi - And actually you know, there's no shame in it. Really. For all the "good" things celebrities do, they still take the money. They feel entitled to it, and who's to blame them? We empowered them with our adoration and ticket stubs. The "TOP" won't sustain everyone who wants to be there, but the dirty secret is it IS sustained BY everyone who wants to be there.
If we accept equality, and encourage brotherhood over exceptional-ism, we have the power to bring down this pyramid scheme.

@pjamesbda , the Republican party and people like Rush and Sea Hannity had fooled people who listen to them into believing that they will be the among the rich one of these days if they work long enough and hard enough. You are right. The simple truth is for the overwhelmingly majority, most of us will remain in what is left of the middle class no matter what we do.

Hey Sync, I got paid from a small business that laid off 30 people with more seniority than me. Not because they made more money than me (non-union), but because they were lazy. My strong work ethic has allowed me to maintain my job and make more money that my former lazy co-workers. I was rewarded because I cared. They were released because they were selfish. Unions are dead and the election of 2012 will prove this.

The Turk is dealing in liberal propaganda. he probably doesn't believe what he's saying, just using Rush to get some hits. Or maybe he really does believe that liberals care more, think more, are more open-minded and tolerant of opposing viewpoints...although a quick review of the comments on this page belies that notion.

@uniteordie1 - Yes, and every time we buy their books, use the products of the companies that endorse them, we strenghten the 1million to 1 ratio that is our "American Dream". We force it down our kids throat teaching them to "fight and be nobody's fool", and so the circle of deception continues. And yet the violence and suicides grow.
But some of us, not many, see thru the ruse. We may not have the right answer yet, but we know what the wrong questions are.

Its Rush LimpBalls!
We've all heard all this before. The Turk is right on. At the core of every conservative, is a poor, shit on kid who had to kill his dog to survive. They wear it like a crown of thorns, which means they overcame all the odds and defied the skeptics, and they flourished for it.
This sounds great, but the big hole in this argument is that for every Oprah story there are a million people who worked just as hard and were just as passionate, that are now boiling their shoes for food!
