(SEASON 2010. EPISODE #01)
Brief highlights of the "4th Annual Winter H*E*A*T Fun Run" on January 2, 2010 at the AAF Tank Museum in Danville, Virginia. Since our regular 3-day R/C Battledays involve a lot of serious Axis vs. Allies historical tank battles, we hold 1-day fun runs like this to try new games with our tanks just for laughs!
THIS EPISODE:
1) Workbench Walkabout. The guys show off their latest tank projects.
2) "Zombie Town" battle game. Historically based on the seige at Stalingrad, but our inspiration was those horror movies like "Precinct 13", "Omega Man" or "I am Legend". The enemy tanks NEVER stop coming. And when your buddies get killed, they come back as "zombies". The guys call this game "IR Legend".
3) Someone lost a track on their Panzer III, but kept on fighting. Then Randy hit a tree and lost the mantlet on his Pershing. But he could still fight because the emitter hole in the mantlet would line up briefly during the cannon recoil motion!
4) "Tank Football". It's really fun! It's plays more like soccer or ultimate Frisbee. Only one guy shoots...as "passes" the IR signal down field. This game is a good diversion from the usual WWII battles that we run on the battlefield.
