Could you have pulled that Lever before setting yourself on fire the first time? Or would it not work before getting the Abydos Jewel?

Actually I could have, but I neglected to mention that the lever is timed, and by the time I got back to the water room having taken the Abydos Jewel, and burned the pyramid crate, the platform would have gone back down again. So I'd have to pull the lever again anyway to raise it.

Lotsa water in this castle. With all this water and all those traps, you'd think there would be water traps.
