Elmer Bernstein in turn was influenced by his mentor Aaron Copland; Bernstein grew to love the American folk sound Copland has composed that he incorporated it when he composed the score of The Magnificent Seven.

HI Crintingnut....you know I have often thought that this particular theme was suprisingly short when it's played as part of a collection of movie themes, and it's a pity it wasn't 'padded' out to make it just a little bit longer ,so I share your oppinion on this one, thanks for comment ,lol
