Roger Whittaker's song 'Why' accompanied by my interpretation of the songs lyrics in pics..just to add a little interest, hopefully...

Roger Whittaker (born March 22, 1936 in Nairobi, Kenya) is an Anglo Kenyan singer/songwriter and musician with worldwide record sales of more than 55 million. His music can be described as easy listening. He is best known for his baritone singing voice and trademark whistling ability.

LYRICS

Something is going wrong
With the singer and the song
And the music isn?t gentle anymore
There?s a mist across the moon
And the sun?s too hot at noon
And the house is dark behind the broken door
Where the flowers used to grow
With their leaves are hanging low
And the constant shadow lies across the floor
There?s a strange and empty sky
Where the wild birds used to fly
And I never tasted bitter rain before

And will the grass be gone from underneath the sky
Will the golden flower wither soon and die
Will the fire burn out the land
And the sea fill-up with sand
Will the last word ever spoken be why?
Will the last word ever spoken be why?

Someone?s lost the plan
For the brotherhood of man
And no one?s trying to find it anymore
And the winds become a sigh
For those who hate and those who die
And the waves are black and slow along the shore

And will the grass be gone from underneath the sky
Will the golden flower wither soon and die
Will the fire burn out the land
And the sea fill-up with sand
Will the last word ever spoken be why?
Will the last word ever spoken be why, why, why?
Will the last word ever spoken be ?.WHY?

  • @lunda2222 Actually the earth will be restored to the way it was originally meant to be in the Garden of Eden (meaning Paradise of Pleasure), except that it will be earth wide according to Bible prophecy and with those ruining the earth removed, God will see that it stays that way. For more info on the earth's future, speak to the next people who knock on your door with the Bible.

  • @klattalexis

That depends really on WHAT kind of earth they are to inherit, if it's a barren wasteland I' d just as soon pass on that. The lion may very well lie down with the lamb because they're both dead.

  • Tres belle video:Continuez :Proficiat . From Belgium.

  • This song with the accompanying images, depicts our worsening world conditions, very well does it not. All of this and more was foretold in Bible Prophecy, depicting, the last generation. (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, 2 Timothy 3: 1-5 & Revelation 6)

This is actually Good News for "the meek, who shall inherit the earth, and reside forever upon it" but bad news for those who are "ruining the earth". That "kingdom" we pray for in the Lord's Prayer is the ONLY hope for all mankind

  • This is an example of a great voice and great writing-the current generation of "musicians" should take an example from the truly talented performers who have come before...(but I guess they don't really need to, as they're millionaires from record sales, concerts, etc-people still buy their trash!

  • great voice i wish the current singers would listen to these songs n take a page or pages from them

  • "Something is going wrong

With the singer and the song

And the music isn't gentle anymore"

This perfectly expresses my thoughts on the music nowadays. If only more people would listen to songs like this, instead of people screaming at the top of there lungs.

  • These lyrics are so prophetic they give me goosebumps. But all of Roger Whittaker's songs give me goosebumps. What a fantastic voice!

  • I thought of Michael Jackson while this was playing, I wonder- Why...

  • great song - nice video too. Just somehow the lyrics make me think about the sustainability of our planet or if we are just exploiting it and when its gone - we may ask why?
