Another very automated hemming machine that is used to sew drapery/bedding panels. Built for Spear Systems in the mid 90's, the machine sews 2 sides simultaneously from roll stock or individual panels, (width is variable from 50" to 80" at the touch of a button), then measures to customer's desired length (via programmable keypad), then neatly cuts and unloads the panels. Sides may be hemmed in 1/2", 3/4", 1", or 1 1/2". The machine can then be quickly converted to hem the panel's header and/or bottom. Dual edge trimmers insure proper cut for clean, consistent, hems.
Machine runs up to 45 feet per minute at 8 stiches per minute, or slightly slower to achieve high stitch counts for highest quality demands. The acuumulator constantly collects the cloth and feeds the cutter without stopping the sewing operation, meaning the machine only needs to stop when re loading. A very efficient process.
The machine is equipped with a back-tack which can be toggled on or off when switching from panel to continuous operation. A header lining option is available to allow for header filler or binding, (tape).
A roll fed label inserter is also available for applying care labels when needed.
The fabric unroller is equipped with an edge sensing system that shifts from left to right aligning unevenly coiled goods without effort. The dual static arresters assure no clingy bind-ups in the acuumulator for a smooth operation.
Machine is AC powered and syncronized with 6 on-board VFDs, all controlled by an Allen Bradley PLC. The panel's length is selected via the programmable Red Lion Gemini Processor on the cutter control panel. Truly a wonderful and highly productive machine that we enjoyed creating.
